Davis, Douglas, and Eleinen pick up first team All-Ivy honors for Penn squash

The regular season for men’s and women’s squash may be over, but the competition isn’t over for Penn. Three first team All-Ivy players will compete in the Collegiate Squash Association (CSA) Championships.

On Thursday, the Ivy League announced the All-Ivy teams for men’s and women’s squash, and Penn was well-represented. On the men’s side, junior captain and sophomore Aly Abou Eleinen were both unanimously selected to the first team All-Ivy. Meanwhile, senior captain Jessica Davis will represent the women with a first team All-Ivy honor.

This season, Davis went 5-8 overall and 3-4 in Ancient Eight play, while playing in the No. 1 spot in the Quakers’ lineup. She will finish her collegiate career with two first team All-Ivy selections, as well as the 2019 CSA Scholar Athlete and 2019 Academic All-Ivy awards.

Davis is now the 11th athlete in program history to be named to the first team All-Ivy more than once. This was a distinction most recently held by Davis’ former teammate Reeham Sedky, who was selected to first team All-Ivy all four seasons. This is now the tenth consecutive season that the women’s team will have an athlete named to an All-Ivy team.

Next weekend, the men will look to capture the CSA Team Championship title before competing in the CSA Individual Championships next month. Meanwhile, the women will compete in the Howe Cup starting tomorrow before also competing in the Individual Championships.
